Chaneigh Bernard

Born into a family of dancers, Chaneigh began her dance career at 6 weeks old, in a baby bassinet in the corner of her mother’s dance studio. She hit the stage at age two and a half and hasn’t stopped dancing since. She was classically trained at the Karen Bernard School of Dance in Winchester, MA, in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, musical theater, hip hop, lyrical, modern, and contemporary. She performed many lead children’s roles, including Clara, with the Albany Berkshire Ballet in its production of the Nutcracker from 2005-2010. In 2015, she completed the three-year Dance Teacher’s Club of Boston Dance Education Training Course. Chaneigh has been on staff at the Karen Bernard School of Dance for the past nine years, teaching various styles including ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and heels. She continued her dance career at Boston University as a member of the Division 1 Varsity Dance Team performing hip hop, jazz, and pom.

Since graduating from Boston University in 2020, Chaneigh has loved spending her free time both taking and teaching heels workshops at a variety of studios and dance programs across MA.

This is Chaneigh's eighth season dancing with DanceWorks Boston, and she is honored to be returning for her sixth season choreographing, and first season co-choreographing with her lifelong friend, Kate Christopher.
